Granvil and Abigail Bennett family.

They moved from Turkey Run, Upshur Co., WV to Monroe Twp. about 1906 (or earlier), settling on what is now 5452 Root Rd. They built a house and farmed into the1930's. They had 14 children, all of whom eventually moved into the Monroe area also.

Their house on Root Rd. was sold and literally lifted and moved on a truckbed across their farm fields to a new location on 5689 Hilldom Rd. This drew quite a crowd in the summer of 1974!
