A longtime member of Geneva Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, was involved with the WMU of the church, and held various church offices. She loved to crochet, knit, cook, go bowling, and attend county fairs, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She met her future husband Michael Stoner, a police officer, walking back and forth to work. Anna was a talented quilter and won ribbons at local fairs. She also liked to crochet and embroider. She always had many flower gardens around her home and always a large vegetable garden. She loved the outdoors, and animals.

Mr. Szalai was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea and was a member of Cowle Post #151. An avid motorcyclist with his 1967 Harley, he also enjoyed camping, hiking, backpacking, and especially his two beloved black Lab dogs. Quite a craftsman, he designed and built his own home when he returned from Colorado.
